About The Position

The ACT Vocational Specialist is a member of the multidisciplinary Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team and is responsible for assisting individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment, educational opportunities, and meaningful vocational activities.

Requirements

Valid Virginia Driver's License required.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, Vocational Rehabilitation, Education, or related field preferred.
Experience in behavioral health, vocational rehabilitation, or workforce development preferred.
Experience working with individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist individuals in identifying vocational interests, strengths, skills, and career goals.
Conduct vocational assessments and employment planning.
Provide individualized supported employment services.
Assist with job searches, applications, resumes, and interview preparation.
Develop relationships with local employers and community businesses.
Support individuals in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment.
Assist individuals in accessing educational and vocational training programs.
Deliver services in homes, workplaces, schools, and community settings.
Collaborate with ACT team members to integrate vocational goals into treatment planning.
Complete assessments, progress notes, and employment documentation within required timeframes.
Maintain compliance with DBHDS, DMAS, HIPAA, Human Rights, and TMACT standards.
