About The Position

The ACT- Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) is responsible for providing family-oriented, individual, and/or group rehabilitative mental health services. This includes skills training and development, medication training, parenting skills training, and intensive case management services to clients, adhering to state-specified standards. QMHP Case Managers deliver interventions in the community, home, school, and office settings to clients on their caseload.

Requirements

  • Possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in rehab counseling, psychology, social work, or related human services field as specified in the Texas Administrative Code Rule §353.1415 for Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-CS) qualifications.
  • General understanding of adult and child mental health disorders, treatment of disorders, and documentation of treatment provided.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality and ethical guidelines for practice.
  • Understanding of diagnosis and treatment of clinical disorders and life adjustment problems.
  • Knowledge of treatment documentation, confidentiality and ethical guidelines for practice.
  • Knowledge and awareness of service agencies, works in a community setting.
  • Knowledge of medications used in the treatment of mental illness.
  • Must be able to frequently (up to 65% of the time) sit, stand, walk, and climb stairs (if an elevator is unavailable).
  • Must be able to frequently (up to 65% of the time) talk, listen and speak clearly in person and via telephone.
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 10 lbs. in weight on occasion (up to 35%).
  • Must be able to frequently (up to 65% of the time) travel locally.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of experience in a community setting with knowledge of curriculum-based rehabilitative techniques and community resources for clients suffering with severe and persistent mental illness.

Responsibilities

  • Provide curriculum-based rehabilitative services with consumers both individually and in groups.
  • Independently develop and implement rehabilitative services based on consumer desires, medical necessity, and clinical judgment.
  • Deliver rehabilitation services in accordance with recovery plans created collaboratively with clients and document progress.
  • Transport consumers to and from appointments, as needed.
  • Document clinical notations, understanding they are legal documents.
  • Ensure community awareness of all services offered within the agency.
  • Serve on task forces when requested.
  • Provide consultation to other agencies contracted with CFGC.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
