About The Position

Paragon Behavioral Health Connections is a comprehensive behavioral health organization dedicated to positively impacting individuals and families through compassionate, client-centered care. We aim to deliver personalized care that uplifts clients and builds supportive connections within communities. Our services include community-based or in-home care, and digital solutions, meeting clients where they are physically and emotionally to provide the right support at the right time. Serving communities across Colorado, we offer equitable and creative "one-stop" behavioral health services, including in-home mental health and substance use treatment, crisis stabilization, early childhood support, intensive outpatient programs, assertive community treatment, medication management, and wrap-around support. Our vision is to empower individuals and families with complex needs to overcome challenges, build essential skills, and access resources for long-term well-being. We provide step-down care from inpatient hospitalization, comprehensive support for children and families, and specialized treatment for adults facing depression, trauma, substance use, and other mental health needs. Our programming includes intensive care management, Crisis Stabilization, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Child First, integrated co-occurring Intensive Outpatient treatment, individual and family therapy, medication management, peer support, supported employment/housing, and holistic recovery services.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED (required)
Minimum of 2 years in sustained recovery (mental health, substance use, or both) required
Colorado Peer Specialist certification (or ability to complete within 6 months of hire) preferred
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
Driving clients in personal vehicle is an expectation.
Must live in or near the community served.
Strong interpersonal communication and listening skills
Ability to set boundaries and manage peer/client relationships ethically
Comfort with mobile work, documentation tools, and scheduling flexibility
Commitment to ACT principles including shared caseloads
High level of independence, time management, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Commitment to cultural awareness, equity, and working with diverse populations.
Strong conflict resolution and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in peer support, behavioral health, or crisis response preferred

Responsibilities

Build trusting relationships through shared lived experience, empathy, and peer connection.
Engage clients through assertive outreach and community-based visits, including homes, shelters, and public spaces.
Support clients during crisis situations; assist in de-escalation and provide emotional first aid.
Participate in daily ACT team meetings, contributing to treatment planning and team communication.
Co-facilitate recovery support groups and wellness education groups.
Model recovery values, including hope, self-determination, and meaningful community connection.
Collaborate with natural supports (family, friends, landlords) as part of ACT's inclusive care model.
Document all peer support activities and progress notes in a timely and confidential manner.
Participate in team safety planning, crisis response protocols, and ACT fidelity practices.
Provide accompaniment to housing appointments or inspections, when necessary, to support client self-advocacy and engagement.
