About The Position

The ACT employment specialist provides direct treatment, rehabilitative and supportive services in a community setting to ACT members. Provides direct job development services and employment support services to assist to obtain and maintain community-based employment. Works as a team member of a clinical team to assess member needs and wants, participates in the development of individual service plans, acts as a member advocate and liaisons with families and community agencies. Provides on-call crisis intervention services, as well as weekend and holiday coverage.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and four (4) years of full-time direct care experience in behavioral health
  • Must have 1 year of training or experience in vocational rehabilitation and support. Prior experience may be job development, job coaching, or supported employment.
  • Must have a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card by the AZ Department of Public Safety or eligible to receive one within eight (8) weeks of hire.
  • TB Test clearance required at the time of hire.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid AZ Driver’s License with state minimum insurance coverage and ability to meet and maintain Copa Health’s acceptable driving requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field OR a bachelor’s degree in a non-related field with one (1) year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop individualized employment plans in collaboration with the members, focusing on skill development, job readiness, and job placement.
  • Provide vocational counseling, coaching, and support to members in job search strategies, resume writing, interview preparation, and workplace behavior.
  • Establish partnerships with employers, vocational training programs, and community organizations to create job opportunities for clients.
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the ACT team, including Rehabilitation Specialists, BHMP, and clinical team to coordinate comprehensive care and support for the members.
  • Meets with the members in the community in accordance with established policies and procedures and clinical protocols to provide supportive counseling skill development and other support services as needed.
  • Completes all clinical documentation in a timely manner in accordance with policies, procedures, and clinical protocols, and meets/exceeds member engagement goals as defined by Copa Health.
