About The Position
The ACT Co-Occurring Disorders (COD) Specialist provides integrated treatment services to individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) and co-occurring substance use disorders. Services are delivered in community settings in accordance with ACT, DBHDS, DMAS, and TMACT standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Substance Abuse Counseling, or related field required.
Nice To Haves
- Master's Degree preferred.
- CSAC, CSAC-A, LPC, Resident in Counseling, LCSW, or related credential preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct substance use screenings and assessments.
- Develop individualized treatment and relapse prevention plans.
- Utilize Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, and Recovery-Oriented approaches.
- Provide integrated mental health and substance use interventions.
- Deliver services in homes, shelters, hospitals, and community settings.
- Coordinate care with medical providers, MAT programs, and community agencies.
- Participate in ACT team meetings and treatment planning.
- Provide education on addiction, recovery, and wellness.
- Participate in crisis intervention and outreach activities.
- Complete documentation in compliance with Medicaid and agency requirements.
