About The Position

The Acquisition Support Consultant provides operational and analytical support across the federal acquisition lifecycle, assisting contracting officers and program teams in executing compliant procurement actions. This role focuses on supporting acquisition planning, documentation, and coordination activities while ensuring adherence to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency-specific guidelines. Working under moderate supervision, the consultant contributes to procurement efficiency by supporting solicitation development, contract administration, and documentation management for federal programs.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of experience
  • Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS (preferred), and agency supplement
  • Experience with federal procurement systems (e.g., SAM.gov, FPDS, PRISM)
  • Familiarity with contract types (FFP, CPFF, T&M, IDIQ)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience supporting documentation, tracking systems, and reporting
  • Strong attention to detail and compliance focus
  • Organizational and documentation management skills
  • Ability to follow structured acquisition processes
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Effective communication and stakeholder coordination
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to obtain or maintain a Public Trust or security clearance
  • Ability to work in a compliance-driven federal environment

Nice To Haves

  • CFCM or related acquisition certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support acquisition lifecycle activities, including planning, solicitation, evaluation, award, and contract administration
  • Assist in developing acquisition plans, market research reports, and procurement documentation
  • Draft or support development of Statements of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statements (PWS), and acquisition packages
  • Coordinate with contracting officers, program managers, and stakeholders to gather requirements
  • Assist with proposal evaluations, documentation, and compliance reviews
  • Maintain acquisition records, contract files, and tracking systems
  • Support contract modifications, closeout activities, and reporting requirements
  • Conduct market research to identify potential vendors and industry trends
  • Ensure documentation meets regulatory standards and is audit-ready
  • Track procurement milestones, deliverables, and deadlines
  • Support preparation of briefings, reports, and acquisition status updates
