About The Position

BRC is seeking an Achievement Retention Specialist to join their Palace Employment Residence team. This role is crucial in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness to reclaim their lives through employment and self-sufficiency. The specialist will be responsible for data collection on client employment and retention, managing retention programming, conducting outreach and intake, collaborating with service providers and employers, facilitating workshops, providing career assessments, and assisting with housing placements and retention. The position requires working closely with the treatment team to address independent living concerns and providing emergency first aid/CPR assistance when needed.

Requirements

  • BA preferred.
  • Prior experience required in the fields of addiction, mental illness or homelessness.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress, high-volume environment, while maintaining positive open communications with other components of the treatment team.
  • CPR training certification or willingness to take training class in CPR.

Responsibilities

  • Collection of data regarding client employment and retention for reporting, assessment, and evaluation.
  • Managing the retention programming for BRC's Workforce Development, including overseeing and scheduling monthly retention events and semi-annual participant retention celebrations.
  • Performing outreach and intake of all facility residents into the Workforce Development program.
  • Collaborating with other service providers, employers, and educational/vocational programs to assist participants in reaching their employment and educational goals.
  • Facilitating employment-related workshops as scheduled.
  • Providing career assessment and employment preservation services to job seekers of the program.
  • Working closely with all components of the treatment team to address independent living concerns and assist with housing placements and retention.
  • Providing emergency first aid/CPR assistance when needed.
  • Related duties as assigned.
