About The Position

Achievement and Behavior Support Specialist at Phoenix Academy. Phoenix Academy, located in High Point, N.C., opened in 1998 and serves students in K-12. At Phoenix, you can connect passion with purpose. The K-12 building allows opportunities to grow with children and obtain exposure to all different grade levels and experiences. It offers a safe learning environment with fobs for entrances, CPI crisis training, glass films, panic buttons, safety drills, Say Something, a school-wide behavior recognition program, and a safety team. Phoenix Academy was recently recognized by local news for its OCS program. The school promotes from within whenever possible and offers an NHA Dean Prep program to prepare employees who want to explore leadership. They also provide new employee and beginning teacher professional development, Dean coaching, and Mentor/Mentee programs for beginning teachers and new employees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required with 2 years of experience working with children with behavior or an Associate Degree.
  • Leadership and school culture development skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing student behavior and assisting educators with behavior management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop individualized behavior and academic plans for identified students.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and reading specialists to create and execute intervention plans.
  • Implement the responsible thinking process to encourage students to proactively make college-bound choices – daily encouragers, community builders, and progress monitors.
