About The Position

1 Resource Group is seeking an AC/DC Motor Repair Mechanic. You will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, rewinding, testing, and reassembling electric motors, generators, pumps, and rotating equipment. This position works directly in the repair shop and supports quality, safety, and production goals while ensuring repairs meet OEM specifications, EASA standards, and customer requirements.

Requirements

Experience in inspecting, troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, rewinding, testing, and reassembling electric motors, generators, pumps, and rotating equipment.
Ability to work directly in a repair shop environment.
Knowledge of OEM specifications, EASA standards, and customer requirements.
Proficiency in performing incoming inspections.
Skill in documenting as-found conditions, measurements, and damage.
Ability to identify repair requirements and recommend corrective actions.
Experience in safely disassembling motors and generators.
Knowledge of cleaning components using approved methods (blasting, solvent cleaning, bake-out).
Ability to inspect bearings, shafts, housings, laminations, and winding systems.
Experience in replacing bearings, seals, sleeves, and mechanical components.
Skill in performing shaft measurements and alignment checks.
Ability to install and fit replacement components.
Experience in performing stator and armature winding repairs.
Ability to install winding RTDs, bearing RTDs, thermistors, space heaters, and grounding devices.
Skill in completing lead connections and insulation repairs.
Proficiency in performing electrical testing including Megger testing, Polarization Index (PI), Surge testing, Resistance testing, Hi-Pot testing, Growler testing.
Ability to reassemble repaired equipment according to specifications.
Skill in verifying proper clearances, fits, and alignment.
Ability to complete final quality inspections.
Experience in preparing equipment for shipment.

Assist with machining and balancing operations when required.
Assist with rewind operations including coil installation, lacing, taping, and soldering.
Assist with no-load and load testing of motors and generators.

Responsibilities

Perform incoming inspections on AC and DC motors, generators, and related equipment.
Document as-found conditions, measurements, and damage.

Complete inspection reports and repair documentation.
Safely disassemble motors and generators of various sizes and voltages.
Clean components using approved methods including blasting, solvent cleaning, and bake-out processes.
Inspect bearings, shafts, housings, laminations, and winding systems.
Replace bearings, seals, sleeves, and mechanical components.
Perform shaft measurements and alignment checks.
Install and fit replacement components.
