SVI Trucks builds custom fire apparatus, including rescue trucks, hazmat units, command vehicles, fire engines, tanker trucks, law enforcement vehicles and more. SVI Trucks is seeking a skilled and proactive Accurpress/Press Brake Operator to join our team. In this role, you will operate and maintain Safan Darley and Accurpress press brakes to form sheet metal parts from various gauge materials. The role involves reading technical drawings, programming CNC press brakes, and collaborating with design and manufacturing engineers to ensure precision and efficiency in production.

Requirements

  • Physically able to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Must pass drug screen, background check, and physical agility test

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with Safan Darley and Accupress press brakes is a plus
  • Experience with CNC press brake programming is a plus.
  • Proficiency in press brake setup and operation.
  • Ability to organize parts onto pallets efficiently.
  • Strong capability to read blueprints and understand engineering drawings, including basic dimensioning, welding callouts, and special operation notes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Execute proper setup and operation of Safan Darley and Accupress press brakes based on best practices.
  • Perform 1st piece and in-process inspections to verify components meet quality standards.
  • Inspect components and assemblies against documentation to ensure accurate fit and quality compliance.
  • Document measurements, processes, and any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with interdepartmental teams and engineers to support business and product-related projects.
  • Follow work instructions and document any inconsistencies or potential cost savings.
  • Operate a forklift as needed.
  • Work independently while adhering to established procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned
