Building Choices is an Accredited Offending Behaviour Programme which has replaced several previous accredited programmes. It is a strength-based, person-centred intervention that targets a broad range of criminogenic needs such as emotional regulation, thinking skills and relationships. Due to the demand for places on this Programme we are now recruiting for a second delivery team. These posts will be based at HMP The Verne but the successful candidate will also be required to travel periodically to HMP Portland to support delivery of Building Choices there and undertake associated prisoner-facing activities. Travel between establishments will be required as part of the role. HMP The Verne is a Category C prison exclusively housing people who have been convicted of sexual offences. HMP Portland is a Cat C prison and YOI holding men aged 18 and over. The job holder will deliver a range of activities and programmes, which include assessment, group and individual treatment and provides support to wider rehabilitative activity within the prison. The post holder will be supported through training, career development opportunities and professional support. This is a non-operational, non-rotational job with no line management responsibilities.
