About The Position

Octagon is seeking an Accreditation Manager to join their project management team, working for a key client and FIFA World Cup 26™ Partner. This contract role is ideal for individuals who excel in major event environments, possess strong attention to detail, are proficient with spreadsheets, and are team players eager to work within an international team. The Accreditation Manager will be crucial in overseeing the accreditation process for a significant global event, ensuring all stakeholders, including staff, vendors, media, and VIPs, receive appropriate credentials and access in line with event security and operational protocols. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, international setting.

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar role a large scale at a major sporting event such as the Olympics, Paralympics or FIFA World Cup™
  • Strong organizational, data management, and stakeholder communication skills
  • Ability to interpret and implement complex international protocols and timelines
  • High level Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook skills
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed
  • Moderate travel (20-45%) with ability to be onsite throughout tournament window (June-July) as needed

Responsibilities

  • Support internal & external project teams with accreditations for global soccer event
  • Act as primary contact for client lead and internal team to assemble all documentation in accordance with FIFA guidelines
  • Collect, validate, and submit all required personal and role data for staff, ensuring compliance with document validity, background checks, and mandatory fields
  • Assess and submit staffing plans, ensuring all roles, headcounts and venue access needs are accurately reflected for approval
  • Ensure requests for accreditations are submitted properly and in a timely manner
  • Manage both invitation-based and bulk registration processes for all accredited staff
  • Communicate accreditation procedures and information clearly and accurately to external region captions
  • Assign and manage access zones and stadium codes according to approved working functions and FIFA’s zoning protocols
  • Support onsite within client operations HQ during tournament window (June-July) to resolve real time issues during badge collection and event operations windows
  • Report and coordinate the cancellation and potential reissue of lost or stolen accreditation passes, following FIFA’s security procedures
