About The Position

The Accreditation Coordinator manages Cancer Program accreditation, ensuring compliance with standards from organizations like CoC, NAPRC, NAPBC, and ACR. This role involves educating staff, acting as a liaison with accrediting bodies, and coordinating application and re-accreditation processes. Additionally, the coordinator facilitates cancer program activities, including organizing meetings, developing program goals with stakeholders, and compiling minutes. The position also involves representing the organization in community health education and promotion related to cancer, managing grant finances, and collaborating with marketing and service line directors to expand oncology services. Adherence to safety, infection control, and ethical conduct policies is paramount.

Requirements

  • BSN or BA in Health Education, Health Promotion, or Health Management required.
  • High language, intermediate math, high reasoning ability.
  • Ability to work with diverse group of people.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years oncology-related clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages Cancer Program accreditation, ensuring compliance with CoC, NAPRC, NAPBC, and ACR or other oncology service line accreditations.
  • Monitors and implements policies and procedures to meet accreditation compliance.
  • Educates staff and stakeholders on CoC standards and the accreditation process.
  • Acts as the contact person between the cancer program and ACOS.
  • Reviews current standards outlined by ACOS and ensures compliance.
  • Coordinates application and re-accreditation processes.
  • Organizes and documents agendas for cancer committee and tumor boards meetings.
  • Facilitates cancer program steering committees.
  • Works with cancer committee members, oncologists, and departments with cancer-related activities to develop cancer program goals.
  • Acts as a facilitator to bring together key participants in cancer program goal implementation.
  • Compiles minutes, tracks attendance, and ensures documentation meets CoC standards.
  • Represents MercyOne Northeast Iowa for cancer-related community health education and promotion.
  • Coordinates with grant writers to manage fiscal aspects of cancer-related grants.
  • Coordinates and implements community health program/education/activities for cancer-related patient populations.
  • Assists with liaison activities between MercyOne and local health organizations that serve cancer-related patient populations.
  • Performs public speaking as requested as it pertains to education or event activities.
  • Serves on task forces, committees, and teams as requested.
  • Acts as a resource for cancer information.
  • Partners with the Marketing team to create marketing materials and campaigns specific to the Cancer Center.
  • Collaborates with the Service Line Director to expand oncology services and provides support for initiatives as needed.
  • Adheres to all safety, infection control, and employee health policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leader.
