About The Position

The Accounts Receivable Associate is an integral part of the finance team, responsible for the precise and prompt management of receivable accounts. The role ensures a positive experience for both internal teams and external customers through efficient payment application and resolution of payment-related issues. While primarily focused on accounts receivable functions, this position also provides backup support for accounts payable activities.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in accounting, accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, reconciliation, and data entry.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with Oracle.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external partners.
  • Willingness to learn and automate processes.
  • Associate degree in Accounting or equivalent education and experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Oracle experience is a plus.
  • Experience with system implementation and/or system upgrades is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Handle customer service requests related to billing and receivables.
  • Process policyholder payments through the company’s billing system.
  • Oversee daily lockbox transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Investigate and resolve returned checks, ACH transactions, and credit card disputes.
  • Prepare and record daily cash deposits.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding policyholder billing and provide guidance to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and partners to address billing concerns.
  • Manage and process miscellaneous deposits received onsite.
  • Reconcile payment processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Serve as backup for Accounts Payable by reviewing and entering invoices into the AP system, processing check and ACH payment batches, and addressing vendor inquiries and resolving discrepancies.
  • Contribute to departmental projects and process improvement initiatives.
