About The Position

This role supervises the accounts payable (AP) processing function within Intermountain Health (IH). This role hires, trains, and supervises Payables Specialists. In addition, this role oversees invoice processing ensuring compliance with laws and regulations as well as IH policies and procedures. This role assigns and directs AP workflow. This role sets individual and workgroup goals and monitors accomplishments. This role develops and maintains department job descriptions. This role Essential Functions Supervises central AP processing. Advises operations manager on the expectations, qualifications and job descriptions for Payables Specialists assigned to the processing functions. Assists with the hiring and training of Payables Specialists. Assists with the development and documentation of AP processes and provides related training material. Monitors metrics to ensure that operations is maintaining a high level of efficiency. Oversees resolution of issues in processing disbursements. Provides timely feedback and evaluations to staff to ensure the development of a high performing team. Strengthens controls and ensures adherence to policies. Implements corrections for deficiencies identified in disbursement related audits. Oversees gatekeeping function for internal controls policies and procedures. Maintains vigilance in detecting and preventing all types of fraud. Advises operations leadership on communication with other teams and departments. Facilitates resolution of problems and complex issues with other AP personnel, accounting, buyers, and other departments. Assists with improving AP processes. Coordinates standardization efforts for invoice processing. Understands the details of the AP systems to ensure efficient processing and the timely resolution of any issues. In conjunction of AP directors and managers, monitors measures and benchmarks to quantify efficiencies, improvements, and quality. These measures include metrics related to the ability to take discounts, timeliness of payments, the degree to which work is error free and the quantity of work per caregiver. Performs other duties as assigned.
