About The Position

Unity House of Troy is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance Department. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree in a related field preferred
• Minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
• Experience with computerized accounting systems required
• Valid New York State driver’s license and reliable transportation required

Responsibilities

• Process daily accounts payable transactions, including invoices, purchase orders, expense reports, credit memos, payment transactions, journal entries, and general ledger entries
• Maintain accurate and organized files and documentation
• Prepare and complete weekly check runs
• Review documents for proper approval; return unapproved items for authorization and follow up as needed
• Collect and verify documentation to ensure all required approvals are obtained prior to payment
• Audit and process company credit card statements and employee expense reports
• Reconcile vendor statements and general ledger expense accounts
• Respond to vendor and employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Set up and manage new vendor accounts
• Promote an environment of inclusion, respect, and belonging
