About The Position

The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. In addition, this role is responsible for upholding our core values of ethics, engagement, and excellence.

Requirements

General accounting knowledge
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
Effective verbal, listening and written communications skills
Knowledge and experience of related computer applications
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Very effective organizational skills
Computer skills include, but not limited to, the ability to operate computerized accounting, spreadsheet and word processing programs, and email at a highly proficient level
Time management skills
Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance related field of study, required
Three or more years’ experience in accounting and/or finance sector

Responsibilities

Operating Payables processing weekly
Accounts Receivable Cash Posting backup
Review and Post batches – as backup to AR team lead
Analyze credits posted to proper client to receive credits
Assist with collections of past due AR accounts
Research & Analyis of stale dates recon items on all balance sheet accounts
Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
Assembly of financial package binder
All banking updates for both Sage and Finance Manager
Carrier and vendor profile updates/creation for Sage and Finance Manager
Banking information validation - via phone calls
Parcel Adjustment Calculation Partner- backup
Cargo Claims processing
Other duties & special projects assigned
