About The Position

Maryland's Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) program is a new social insurance system designed to provide paid time off for medical and family reasons to approximately 2.6 million workers and 180,000 employers across Maryland. This digitally native, public-facing service is being built from the ground up, similar in scale to established programs like unemployment insurance or a new health department. The Financial Services Directorate is tasked with establishing and maintaining an efficient financial system for the FAMLI Division, including robust internal controls and financial procedures. This directorate is responsible for safeguarding FAMLI funds, managing contributions and benefit payouts, developing financial reports, preparing budgets and projections, and conducting internal and external audits.
