The Statewide Accounting Daily Operations Section is a team of 7 accountants and accounting technicians at the center of accounting for Montana state government. We are seeking an accounting technician with excellent soft skills to join our team!

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent AND Two years of job-related experience OR Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

• Communicate effectively and diplomatically, both verbally and in writing, with other staff members, agencies, and members of the public

Responsibilities

• Delivering technical assistance to state agencies regarding suppliers, payment processing, and accounts payable
• Researching and documenting payment issues
• Maintaining supplier accounts
• Assisting with stale date check processing and reconciliations
• Performing various other accounting transactions related to payment replacements and cancellations
• Assisting both internal and external customers over the phone and in writing with payment and other miscellaneous questions
