About The Position

As an Accounting Technician, you will play a key role in supporting our Senior Accountants, Managers, and Partners across a diverse portfolio of clients. You will apply your technical accounting skills to deliver full-cycle bookkeeping and accounting support while maintaining strong client relationships.

Requirements

1–2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
Proficiency in Sage 50, QuickBooks, Sage Cloud, and QuickBooks Online.
Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and payroll.
Ability to manage multiple client files with strong attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Positive mindset with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to continuous improvement.
Strong commitment to reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of your own work.

Nice To Haves

Post-secondary coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset.
Experience within a public practice firm is an asset but not required.
Experience with Great Plains Dynamics is an asset.

Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of clients, performing full-cycle accounting to the general ledger stage.
Prepare bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable sub-ledgers, and investment reconciliations.
Complete payroll processing, including benefits, source deductions, ROEs, and interprovincial WorkSafe filings.
Prepare GST/HST, QST, PST, and other statutory tax filings.
Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring timeliness and compliance with client and statutory deadlines.
Collaborate with team members to enhance processes and support workflow efficiencies.
Provide training and guidance to junior staff.
Communicate effectively with clients through both written and verbal communication.
