About The Position

Under general supervision, the incumbent performs para-professional/technical accounting work, interprets and processes financial data, records and executes transactions and processes customer in-person and over the phone payments, and resolves complex technical accounting problems applying established advanced accounting practices. Incumbents may prepare complex grant invoices, revenue to expense grant reconciliation and reports which require the review of complex source documents and thorough familiarity of grant policies, procedures, and terminology to obtain the necessary data. One vacancy exists in the Planning and Development Department. Immediate and future vacancies will be filled from this eligible list for a period of three (3) months from the date the eligible list is created, with the option of extending that period for up to a maximum of two years at the City's discretion. If the examination process is suspended for this recruitment, the eligible list may be limited to three (3) months.

Requirements

  • Completion of 12 units of accredited college or university course work in accounting.
  • A COPY OF DEGREE OR COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE UPLOADED AND INCLUDED IN YOUR ON-LINE APPLICATION FOR VERIFICATION OF REQUIREMENT.
