About The Position

This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The Accounting Technician will administer the Department of Administration's OneCard (PCard) program by managing cardholder accounts, providing training, and helping ensure compliance with state policies. This role involves reviewing and certifying financial and procurement transactions to support accurate accounting and responsible stewardship of public funds. The technician will also process departmental deposits and maintain accurate financial records. Additionally, the position will assist with travel, payroll, reimbursable services agreements (RSAs), and a variety of other fiscal activities. A key aspect of this role is providing exceptional customer service and fiscal guidance to staff on purchasing card, accounting, and financial processes. The Department of Administration provides essential support services that help State government operate effectively and efficiently. The Division of Administrative Services is committed to collaboration, accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement while supporting divisions across the department.

Requirements

  • One year of entry technical level accounting or clerical bookkeeping experience.
  • Certification as an Accounting Technician from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience.
  • Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month) if it includes at least 6 semester/8 quarter hours in Accounting.
