Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Two years of experience in accounting clerical work.
  • Proficient in Excel Word & Ten key.
  • Ability to analyze financial information.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Processes accounts payables and journal entries as needed.
  • Compiles departmental purchase receipts and back-up documents and allocates costs to accurate account codes for P-card expenditures on a weekly basis/as needed.
  • Maintains the Certificates of Insurance records and spreadsheet for ACCESS vendors and provides updated policies to the legal department.
  • Prepares accounting documents, financial reports and forms for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintains fund tracking spreadsheets for ACCESS Grant disbursements and expenditures.
  • Completes monthly/quarterly claims for NCDOT and submits to Transportation Administrator for review prior to deadlines.
  • Finalizes purchase transactions for ACCESS using a company P-Card as directed by leadership.
  • Tracks department inventory and coordinates with department leadership to assess the need for supplies.
  • Confirms allowable purchases, verifies account balances and consults with leadership to receive approval prior to purchasing. Purchasing can include supplies, meeting/training materials, travel/training bookings etc.
  • Assists with coordinating Transportation Advisory Board meetings by sending notices/reminders, preparing agendas, documenting minutes and presenting billing updates.
  • Prepares and maintains detailed and/or confidential records and files.
  • Serves as a back-up for daily deposits and provides deposit documentation to county finance.
  • Perform any related work as required or assigned.
