About The Position

CTF Illinois is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and knowledgeable professional to join their team as an Accounting Supervisor. This role involves overseeing key accounting functions, supporting and developing a small accounting team, and ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of financial operations. The ideal candidate will enjoy leading a team and ensuring details are handled correctly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong experience and knowledge in Accounts Payable and Payroll.
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments.
  • Ability to provide guidance, coaching, and support in a professional and positive manner.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support a team of 2–3 accounting professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to promote accountability and professional growth.
  • Manage and review Accounts Payable activities, including invoice processing, payment batches, vendor reconciliations, AP aging, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Review payroll reports for accuracy and compliance and serve as a backup for payroll processing and employee inquiries.
  • Maintain payroll system configurations and support annual payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and Third-Party Sick Pay (3PSP) reporting.
  • Review cash application activity to ensure accurate posting and reconciliation of customer payments.
  • Coordinate and review month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial workbooks, and reporting schedules.
  • Prepare audit documentation and reconciliations and provide support for internal and external audits.
  • Assist with maintaining strong internal controls and ensuring compliance with accounting policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting and payroll processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen accuracy.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment while helping team members build their accounting knowledge and skills.
