About The Position

Eagle Rock Properties is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to take ownership of the monthly close process and serve as the backbone of support for our accounting team during close cycles. This role is for a highly motivated, self-starting professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes pride in delivering accurate, audit-ready financials on time—every time. Eagle Rock Properties is a full-service real estate firm offering investment management, property management, and construction management services, specializing in rental apartment communities across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience, including supervisory responsibility.
  • Solid familiarity preparing and reviewing audit-ready workpapers, public accounting-like.
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter who takes ownership without needing direction.
  • Strong technical accounting skills with experience in month-end close environments.
  • Comfortable acting as the “go-to” person during high-pressure closing periods.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting systems.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation or active progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
  • Experience in real estate or property management accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the month-end close process across a portfolio of real estate properties.
  • Be the central point of support for accountants during closing periods—resolving issues, answering questions, and keeping the process moving efficiently.
  • Review and approve accounting workpapers and supporting schedules prepared by peers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and deliver month-end financial reports for internal management and property stakeholders.
  • Coordinate annual filings across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and resolve closing bottlenecks, proactively improving the efficiency and accuracy of the close process.
  • Ensure consistency and quality across all financial reporting deliverables.
  • Collaborate closely with property managers and internal teams to address accounting issues in real time.
  • Support year-end audit preparation and respond to auditor inquiries with well-organized, high-quality documentation.
