The Senior Accountant / Accounting Supervisor – Client Services plays a key role in delivering high-quality accounting services to a diverse portfolio of clients. This position combines hands-on accounting responsibilities with oversight of financial reporting, client relationships, and junior team members. This role is ideal for someone with experience in public accounting or outsourced/client accounting environments who enjoys working with multiple clients and taking ownership of the accounting process from transaction review through financial statement preparation.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, preferably QuickBooks Online
  • Strong experience with financial statement preparation and month-end close
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and competing deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills for working directly with business owners and internal teams
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to review financial data and identify discrepancies or improvement opportunities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in public accounting or outsourced/fractional accounting environments strongly preferred
  • Experience reviewing the work of others or serving in a lead or supervisory capacity preferred
  • Experience managing multiple client accounts or working with multiple entities strongly preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
  • Experience with other accounting systems or ERP platforms is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary accounting contact for a portfolio of clients across multiple industries
  • Review accounting work performed by junior and senior team members to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to staff accountants as needed
  • Communicate directly with clients to address accounting questions and provide financial insights
  • Coordinate internally with team members to ensure deadlines and client deliverables are met
  • Oversee and participate in month-end and year-end close processes for client accounts
  • Review and prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Prepare and review financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reports
  • Ensure financial reporting is accurate and compliant with accounting standards
  • Assist clients with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting when needed
  • Evaluate client accounting processes and recommend improvements where appropriate
  • Assist with onboarding new clients and reviewing the condition of their books
  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies within internal accounting processes and client workflows
