This role is part of the Accounting team, which encompasses various functions such as ensuring compliance with financial transaction recording standards, controlling and reconciling accounts, and preparing internal and external financial reports. Depending on the organization, accounting work may also involve cost accounting, budgeting, accounts payable/receivable, and credit/collections.

Requirements

  • BA or equivalent + 6 years related experience, or MA + 4 years related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with financial transaction recording standards (e.g., general ledger, cash payments/collections, tax transactions, etc.).
  • Control/reconciliation of accounts and records (balance sheet, P&L, bank accounts, etc.).
  • Accounting reports/schedules for internal audiences (management reporting) and/or for external audiences (compliance reporting) including consolidation of financial statements, cash flow reporting, budget reporting, etc.).
  • Cost accounting/budgeting (allocation of direct/indirect costs, variance analysis, budget preparation, etc.).
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable and/or Credit & Collections.
  • Individuals in these roles have a functional knowledge focus and are primarily responsible for achieving results through their own work and through teams that they may be part of.
  • May mentor, coach and/or train less experienced co-workers.
  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems; analysis requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve products and services.

  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
  • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
