Accounting Specialist

About The Position

Senske Family of Companies (SFC) is currently hiring for an Accounting Specialist to assist the finance department with various accounting-related duties.

Requirements

2-Year Accounting certification or degree OR (Relevant work experience may be substituted for certification or degree)
Previous experience with: Sage software (preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, (especially Excel skills), Understanding of accounting principles including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, payment posting, accrual entries, etc.

Responsibilities

Bill payment and application
Posting of checks and other deposits
Work with other accountants to consolidate supporting documentation and resolve discrepancies
Reconcile balance sheet accounts as assigned. Identify and timely resolve/clear any reconciling items
Ensure that entries are appropriately classified and in the correct account and are fully supported
Prepare and record adjusting journal entries as needed
Business License renewals
Respond timely to both internal and external requests as needed
Periodically solicit feedback from internal contacts for performance and improvement
Communicate with accountants about any issues
Other duties and special projects as assigned
