About The Position

The Accounting Specialist role at Cellofoam North America Inc. is responsible for a variety of accounting and clerical duties. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, accuracy in financial record-keeping, and efficient processing of vendor payments and employee reimbursements. The specialist will operate accounting software, reconcile accounts, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, statistics, and their applications.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.

Responsibilities

Pay vendors by verifying federal id numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation, ensuring credit is received for outstanding memos, and issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
Assemble statements and reports that require utilization of an array of sources.
Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports and recording entries.
Administer employee reimbursement process.
Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
Operate 10-key calculators, computer(s), and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents.
Perform general office duties, such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence.
Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.
Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers.
Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software.
Match order forms with invoices and record the necessary information.
Compare computer printouts to manually maintained journals to determine if they match.
Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Work in conjunction with other departments to resolve issues.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere with a culture of respect for others.
