About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring that all patient information is correct for billing Medicaid, Medicare, and Third Party and Private Insurances for the facility. Contact Social Security and DHHR daily to obtain insurance and financial information and distribute it to appropriate staff. Receive billing information, review, and enter it into patient updates in Optimum. Access web portals to obtain remittance advice reports, and other needed reports. Maintain current insurance information/days remaining spreadsheet and disperse to appropriate staff daily. Maintain a spreadsheet for all active patient’s insurance for outside medical appointments. Monitor and complete eligibility and Work Queue issues in Optimum. Update the Pharmacy Charge Master in Optimum. Credentialing of all professional staff for the facility. Enter and track invoices for Court Ordered Forensic Evaluations in Oasis. Work closely with Billing Vendor and provide needed information for billing process. Maintain accurate financial records, fund balances and supporting documents of trustee accounts. Record and prepare deposits for all receipts including care, collections, snack bar and patient funds, etc. Prepare checks for all vouchers that are issued and prepare patient payrolls and monthly statements. Maintain secure storage for patient valuables. Interact with patients and staff to resolve any problems that may arise and perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of full time or equivalent part time clerical, bookkeeping, accounting, auditing, budgeting, finance, or related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time experience as an Office Associate or Secretary may substitute for the required experience (for internal applicants only).
  • Additional education may be substituted based on a year-for-year basis or as determined by the Office of Shared Administration Equivalency Chart.
