About The Position

Arkansas Talent Group is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist on behalf of a respected Non-Profit Organization in Little Rock, Arkansas. This role works closely with the Controller and supports a wide range of accounting and finance operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial activities.

Requirements

Associate or bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of three years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience.
Strong Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and related formulas).
Experience with accounting software and a sound understanding of GAAP principles.
Detail-oriented, organized, and dependable with excellent time management skills.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records and assist with general accounting duties in compliance with GAAP.
Prepare, post, and review journal entries and transaction details for accuracy and proper classification.
Support monthly and year-end close processes by reconciling accounts and confirming the completeness of entries.
Process payroll and related journal entries when assigned, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
Assist with processing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining vendor and customer records, and ensuring proper documentation.
Record and track grant revenues and expenses in accordance with funding and reporting requirements.
Generate and analyze financial reports to assist management in decision-making.
Use accounting software and Excel tools (including pivot tables and lookup functions) to perform daily tasks efficiently.
Collaborate with team members across departments to gather information and support financial inquiries.
Participate in special projects, audits, and process improvement initiatives as needed.
