About The Position

F&M Trust is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join their Finance team. This individual will work closely with other members of the Finance team and internal stakeholders on a variety of ongoing responsibilities. The new team member will be based at Corporate Headquarters in Chambersburg, PA, with a hybrid schedule available after successful demonstration of key accountabilities. The successful candidate will perform or assist with responsibilities that support the accounting and finance function, including wire transfers, accounts payable, cash position, general ledger, and other administrative support functions. The role will include a growing level of complexity and responsibility as performance is demonstrated. A high level of data accuracy is integral to this individual's success and to the overall effectiveness of the Finance department. Due to expected bank growth, this individual will have opportunities for advancement within the Finance department. The Accounting Specialist career path includes level II and level III roles, which provide more extensive responsibilities for a less experienced individual to grow into or for a more experienced individual to align with based on functional experience. Advancement would be accompanied by a competitive salary commensurate with experience and demonstrated performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Keen eye for accuracy and consistency in financial data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to learn and successfully use a variety of other computer technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with appropriate follow-through.
  • Inquisitive and analytical thinker with the ability to look beyond transactional details, identify trends, and ask thoughtful questions.
  • Desire and willingness to learn new processes and take on additional responsibilities.

  • Coursework or experience in accounting, finance, or banking.
