About The Position

The Accounting Specialist I position at Pilgrim's is responsible for raw material receiving, short weight processing, process order reconciliation, and production reporting. Additional functions include weekly, monthly, annual reporting, inventory audits, accurate record keeping, and other accounting duties as assigned. This role requires sound, ethical judgment regarding production operations, ingredient lists, batch records, process order variances, inventories, and efficiency. The team member must be able to work cooperatively with other hourly and supervisory/managerial team members and maintain confidentiality concerning all company-related processes and matters. Pilgrim's prioritizes safety, ensuring it is a condition of employment.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance (experience in the poultry industry can substitute for the degree).
  • 1 – 2 years clerical accounting experience preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and written.
  • Must be able to prepare a variety of reports and analyses.
  • Knowledge of SAP (preferred) or comparable ERP system, Excel, and Microsoft.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, methods, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and practices.
  • Must have good inter-personal skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
  • Willing to work some weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of SAP

Responsibilities

  • Daily receipts of raw material purchase orders in SAP.
  • Accurate reporting of chargebacks at time of receipt, and communication to suppliers.
  • Perform payroll and timekeeping tasks.
  • Reconcile production orders for the previous day using marination batch records.
  • Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly production reports including yield, efficiency, and downtime data.
  • Track process loss and condemned information.
  • Communicate information to plant management.
  • Other Responsibilities as assigned by their manager.
