About The Position

This role involves working with team members across multiple offices and partners (Finance, Legal, IT, and Sales Ops). The primary focus is on ensuring revenue recognition procedures comply with relevant US GAAP and SEC developments. The position requires implementing controls, evaluating actions for compliance with ServiceNow's revenue recognition accounting process (including bookings and billings), and completing month-end close activities such as revenue reconciliation and management reporting. The role also supports process improvements, the implementation of revenue reporting to shorten the revenue close cycle, and documentation reviews following ASC 606 accounting standards. Additionally, it involves provisioning and creating training on revenue recognition rules and policies for various departments and performing contract analysis reviews to ensure subscription contracts are accounted for correctly.

Requirements

Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
5+ years of applicable Accounting Experience
Experience with (US GAAP) software revenue recognition under ASC 606
Self-starter with the ability to work independently
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in MS Products especially Excel

Nice To Haves

Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) revenue accounting experience is a plus
Prior SAP experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Work with team members spread across multiple offices and other partners (Finance, Legal, IT, and Sales Ops) while monitoring relevant US GAAP and SEC developments to ensure revenue recognition procedures comply
Implement controls and evaluate actions required for compliance with ServiceNow revenue recognition accounting process, including the bookings and billings process
Complete required month-end close activities including revenue reconciliation and management reporting
Support process improvements and implementation of revenue reporting to further improve revenue tasks and shorten revenue close cycle
Document reviews following ASC 606 accounting standards
Provision and creation of training on revenue recognition rules and policies to partners (Sales, Deal Desk, Legal and Sales Ops) and any other departments
Perform contract analysis review to ensure subscription contracts have been accounted for
