About The Position

Clark Schaefer Hackett is seeking a Manager to join their Client Accounting & Advisory Services (CAAS) practice. This role involves client leadership, technical review, team development, and operational oversight for a portfolio of closely held and middle-market clients. The CAAS practice is rapidly growing as businesses increasingly seek outsourced accounting solutions. The ideal candidate will enjoy building client relationships, developing people, improving processes, and assisting businesses with their financial information.

Requirements

5+ years of accounting experience, including experience reviewing the work of others.
Public accounting, outsourced accounting, client accounting services, controllership, or related experience.
Experience managing multiple clients, projects, or engagements simultaneously.
Strong understanding of financial statement preparation, month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and accounting operations.
Experience coaching, mentoring, or directing the work of team members.

Nice To Haves

CPA or CMA preferred.
Experience working with distributed or offshore teams is a plus.
Experience in Client Accounting Services (CAS) or Client Accounting & Advisory Services (CAAS).
Experience in Outsourced Accounting, Outsourced Finance, Virtual Controller, or fractional accounting environments.
Experience with financial statement preparation, month-end close, and account reconciliation processes.
Experience with compilation and outsourced accounting engagements.
Experience with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, Sage 50, and cloud-based accounting platforms.
Experience with 1099 reporting, sales tax, payroll tax, and related compliance activities.
Experience with workflow management, process improvement, and accounting technology solutions.
Experience in professional services firms, family-owned businesses, entrepreneurial companies, and middle-market organizations.

Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of outsourced accounting clients, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery of financial reporting and accounting services.
Review financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting workpapers prepared by team members before delivery to clients and tax professionals.
Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for business owners, controllers, bookkeepers, and other client stakeholders.
Lead and coach accounting professionals across U.S. and Mumbai delivery teams.
Manage engagement budgets, realization, billing, workflow priorities, and capacity planning across the client portfolio.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, automate routine work, and enhance the client experience.
Collaborate with firm leadership to identify additional services and advisory opportunities that help clients grow.
