About The Position

A well-established CPA firm in Pasadena is looking for an Accounting Manager to take ownership of a diverse client portfolio spanning accounting, tax, and payroll services. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants real client relationships and a path toward firm leadership, not just a seat behind a desk.

Requirements

• Experience in a CPA firm or financial services environment
• Strong organization skill, self-directed, and comfortable making decisions
• Excellent communication, both in writing and in person
• Know how to handle sensitive client information with discretion
• Strong Excel and Word skills

Responsibilities

• Manage the full client relationship, from monthly accounting reports to tax return preparation and review.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Be a visible presence in the firm's business development efforts.
• Work closely with partners on both client work and the firm's own internal accounting.
• Preparing and supervising monthly accounting reports and client tax returns.
• Managing client relationships with a strong service orientation and quick turnaround on requests.
• Applying sound judgment around materiality and prioritization across a busy caseload.
• Using firm checklists and procedures to keep work accurate and audit-ready.
• Contributing to the firm's growth through business development alongside the partner group.
