About The Position

The Accounting Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations while supporting the company’s evolution toward a multi-entity financial structure. This role will operate in an environment with evolving systems requiring a proactive, self-directed leader who can quickly build knowledge, establish best practices, and develop team capabilities. This role will initially focus on core accounting functions including financial close, inventory accounting, and team leadership, with increasing responsibility for multi-entity reporting, fixed assets, and process standardization as systems and processes evolve. The ideal candidate is both detail-oriented and forward-thinking, with the ability to lead, develop team members, and build scalable accounting processes in a growing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and close processes
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to balance hands-on execution with strategic process improvements
  • Ability to learn new systems independently and operate effectively in evolving environments

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CMA designation
  • Experience with multi-entity or consolidated financial reporting
  • Experience in system implementations or process transformation initiatives
  • Background in manufacturing or inventory accounting environments

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Lead and develop the Accounts Receivable functions
  • Provide oversight and coordination of Accounts Payable processes, including guiding day-to-day activities and ensuring accuracy and consistency, in partnership with the AP Manager
  • Manage inventory accounting, including reconciliations, reserves, and variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Support internal and external audits and provide required documentation
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and operational efficiency
  • Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to support financial objectives
  • Serve as a key resource for system and process knowledge, helping to build team capabilities in an environment where processes and system knowledge are still being developed
  • Provide hands-on training, mentorship, and development for team members, including individuals early in their careers
  • Establish documentation and procedures to support consistent training and knowledge transfer
  • Support transition to multi-entity accounting and consolidated financial reporting
  • Oversee fixed asset lifecycle including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals across multiple entities
  • Provide strategic oversight of Accounts Receivable across multiple entities
  • Develop and implement scalable accounting processes, policies, and controls
  • Play a larger role in cross-functional projects and leadership initiatives
  • Support month end and audit activities for multiple entities
