Accounting Manager
About The Position
JM Test Systems is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our financial processes. This role partners closely with the Controller and CFO and serves as a key leader across the accounting function—owning the general ledger, driving a strong close process, and ensuring consistent, compliant practices across multiple locations. You’ll act as the bridge between transactional accounting (AP), staff accountants, and leadership—bringing structure, visibility, and continuous improvement to our financial operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with month-end close and financial reporting
- Experience in multi-location or service-based environments preferred
- ERP experience (Sage 100 or similar strongly preferred)
- Prior leadership or team oversight experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Advanced Excel skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration

Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly and annual close process across all locations
- Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Ensure timely, accurate financial statements and reporting
- Maintain general ledger integrity and consistency
- Partner with leadership on variance analysis and executive reporting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Support internal and external audits
- Strengthen and monitor internal controls
- Identify and drive process improvements and efficiencies
- Optimize use of Sage 100 and related systems
- Oversee sales and use tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions
- Partner cross-functionally with AR, Purchasing, Payroll, and Operations
- Lead and develop the accounting team, including the AP Supervisor and staff accountants
- Oversee AP operations through the AP Supervisor to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
