About The Position

Manages and administers day to day accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, purchasing, payroll, and fixed assets. Assists with cash handling functions and with the preparation and analysis of all financial statements and budgets.

Requirements

B.S Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with emphasis in accounting and 5 years of experience in professional level accounting or equivalent level of education and experience.
Prior fund accounting experience required.
Supervisory experience required
Familiar with standard accounting principles, concepts, practices and procedures.
Requires extensive computer, spreadsheet and analytical skills.
Strong emphasis in teambuilding.

Nice To Haves

Prefer prior experience with federal grants and contract administration.

Responsibilities

Assist in development of accounting policy and internal controls
Provide operational and functional support to accounting staff
Assist in budget development and prepare budget variance reports monthly
Ensure transactions are posted timely for preparation of financial statements
Responsible for ensuring deadlines are met within the Finance Department
Assists with the preparation and analysis of monthly and year-end financial statements.
Works closely with Assistant Comptroller and Comptroller / CFO on annual audit and other projects
Oversee monthly bank reconciliation, general ledger maintenance and month-end closing.
Responsible for weekly payroll taxes and 401(k) contribution payments, preparing quarterly and yearly tax returns for filing.
Responsible for all activities in the accounts payable/receivable, payroll, per capita payment and tribal loan functions.
Other duties as assigned.
