About The Position

Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end close processes. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis to support business planning. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and coordinate with external auditors during annual audits. Supervise and mentor accounting staff while promoting operational efficiency and professional development. Reconcile complex financial accounts and investigate discrepancies to maintain financial accuracy. Develop and improve accounting policies, internal controls, and financial reporting procedures. Collaborate with headquarters in Japan and executive leadership to provide financial analysis and business recommendations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Experience with ERP systems and accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
  • Professional-level English and business-level Japanese communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA license preferred or equivalent public accounting experience.
