About The Position

Kubicki Draper is seeking an experienced, organized, and dependable Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting functions of our organization. This is a hands-on, in-office position, based in the firm's Miami location. This role reports directly to the Finance Director/Controller and plays an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounting processes, and ensuring timely completion of financial responsibilities. Will be responsible for managing a team of 10+ employees.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years’ experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or accounting management for a mid to large sized law firm.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general bookkeeping.
  • Experience managing or reconciling trust accounts.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial and payroll information with discretion.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the Finance Director.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee day-to-day bookkeeping functions, including maintaining accurate financial records and account reconciliations.
  • Manage trust accounts, including transactions, reconciliations, recordkeeping, and ensuring funds are properly accounted for.
  • Supervise Accounts Receivable, includes posting payments.
  • Supervise Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, vendor records, and account reconciliation.
  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule, including maintaining appropriate payroll records.
  • Review accounting transactions for accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Reconcile bank, trust, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist the Finance Director with month-end and year-end accounting processes.
  • Prepare accounting reports and supporting schedules as needed.
  • Maintain organized financial records and ensure accounting procedures and internal controls are followed.
  • Coordinate with employees, vendors, customers/clients, and outside professionals regarding accounting matters.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, controls, and efficiency.
