About The Position

RLP Mechanical is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations for their Waxahachie business unit. This position reports directly to the VP of Accounting and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while helping drive continued growth. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader with experience in construction, commercial HVAC, mechanical contracting, or service-based industries.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP, job costing, WIP accounting, report, and revenue recognition is required
Background in construction, mechanical contracting, HVAC, or service industries is required
Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills
Hands-on mindset with ability to improve processes and support operations

Nice To Haves

Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or similar preferred

Responsibilities

Manage daily accounting functions and month-end close
Prepare monthly financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
Analyze KPIs, job costing, margins, and variances
Ensure GAAP compliance, including WIP accounting, report, and revenue recognition
Help develop accounting team members
Support annual audits and compliance reviews
Partner with operations leadership on business performance and planning
Improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting consistency
Provide strategic financial insight to support growth initiatives
