About The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill an Accounting Manager role in the Los Angeles, CA area. The position is responsible for the accounting operations of the Bank, to include assisting in the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the Bank’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles, as well as state and federal banking regulations. The opportunity has a generous salary of up to $125K plus generous incentives and a benefits package. (This is not a remote position.)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Five or more years of comprehensive accounting experience and at least two (2) years of experience managing the general ledger and financial reporting functions. Experience in a financial institution accounting role preferred
  • Financial control and general ledger expertise.
  • Prior banking experience is preferred, with knowledge and application of federal and state banking laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in using advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, graphing, pivot tables); Microsoft Office, and other accounting software systems.
  • Proficient use with Banking core processor systems: Fiserv, Prologue preferred
  • Experience with Interest Rate Risk and budgeting tools.
  • The ability to make decisions, exhibit sound judgment, and make timely decisions.
  • The ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner by skillfully gathering and analyzing information, facts, data, etc.
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Bank’s general accounting system and financial information reporting.
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that correspondent bank reconciliations are completed, and outstanding items are cleared in a timely fashion.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
  • Maintain the chart of accounts.
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
  • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of Bank operations.
  • Assist in the issuance of timely and complete financial statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of the corporate annual report.
  • Provide financial analyses as needed, for capital investments, pricing decisions and contract negotiations.
  • Assist in the calculation and issuance of financial and operating metrics.
  • Assist in the creation of the annual budget and forecasts.
  • Assist in the coordination of the provision of information to external and internal auditors for their periodic reviews.
  • Assist in the coordination of the provision of information to the regulators of the Bank during their examination.
