WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING This is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll oversee the full financial picture and work directly with leadership to guide the business forward.

Requirements

  • 5 years of accounting experience
  • 3 years in a leadership or management role
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, job costing, and internal controls
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • Construction accounting experience (highly preferred)
  • Experience reviewing contracts is a big plus
  • A leader who is organized, proactive, and solutions-driven

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the general ledger, financial reporting, and monthly close
  • Deliver clear insights and analysis to leadership for smarter decision-making
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Coordinate with external CPAs and auditors
  • Oversee AP processes, job costing, and vendor compliance
  • Strengthen internal controls and approval workflows
  • Manage cash flow and payment planning
  • Ensure accurate payroll processing and tax filings
  • Stay ahead of federal, state, and local compliance requirements
  • Manage insurance programs (GL, Workers Comp, Health, etc.)
  • Partner with brokers, banks, and legal teams
  • Oversee risk management and contract-related insurance requirements
  • Review financial components of construction contracts
  • Ensure compliance with lien rights and documentation processes
  • Lead and mentor accounting staff (AP & Billing)
  • Improve systems, processes, and internal controls
  • Collaborate with leadership to drive operational efficiency
  • Oversee benefits administration (health, 401k, etc.)
  • Act as a key resource for employee benefit questions
