Accounting Manager

Hermeus•Los Angeles, CA

About The Position

Hermeus is a venture-backed defense aviation company reclaiming the lost art of rapid iterative prototyping to build the fastest aircraft in the world today. By prioritizing relentless hardware iteration, we deliver high-speed systems at the pace of the modern battlefield. We work with the Department of War to provide the high-speed capabilities our nation and its allies need to maintain a durable, asymmetric advantage. About the Role We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to own the monthly close process, financial reporting, and technical accounting for a fast-growing business. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role suited to someone who thrives in ambiguity, can build scalable processes from scratch, and is comfortable operating without a fully mature back office. You'll be hands-on with the details and trusted with real ownership — partnering closely with our Controller, FP&A, and Operations teams to keep our books accurate and our processes scaling with the business.

  • CPA (active or in progress)

  • Partner with external auditors and support internal controls as we mature
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
  • Support ad hoc projects and analyses that support company-wide decisions

  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Potential year-end bonuses
  • Paid parental leave
