The Accounting Manager will lead and prepare year-end and preliminary audit schedules, as well as footnote disclosures for external auditors related to revenue recognition accounting and reporting. This role involves performing and supervising the accounting functions for Revenue, Accounts Receivable, Cash, and Compliance-related items to support construction activities, ensuring all deadlines are met. The manager will also be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enforcing policies and procedures for financial operations to ensure strong internal controls, and documenting accounting processes for compliance with GAAP and DCAA reporting requirements. Additionally, the role includes performing technical accounting research, serving as a subject matter expert on revenue recognition standards, and managing one to two accountants. The manager will prepare and review monthly journal entries, manage the setup and closeout of construction jobs, and collaborate with the Accounting Director on project plans for IT/Business initiatives and process improvements. This position will also lead and/or participate in cross-functional project teams for Master Data, General Ledger, and Cash Management/Accounts Receivable initiatives, document end-user requirements, train users on new tools, and identify areas for reporting streamlining. Finally, the Accounting Manager will provide accounting and financial reporting support to senior management for new business lines and support department initiatives as assigned.
