About The Position

As the Accounting Manager, you will report to the Controller and own key accounting processes end to end, from the month-end close through reconciliations and reporting. You will play a vital role in building a scalable accounting function by streamlining workflows, reducing manual effort, and leveraging technology, automation, and AI to deliver timely, accurate results as the business continues to grow. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required (CPA preferred, active or in progress)
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of core accounting processes.
  • Prior experience supervising, mentoring, or reviewing the work of accounting professionals.
  • Proven track record of improving processes, reducing manual effort, and shortening the close cycle.
  • Hands-on experience with automation, system implementations, or AI tools in an accounting environment
  • Solid working knowledge of GAAP and general corporate accounting practices
  • Experience with NetSuite (ERP) and Salesforce preferred; accounting for payroll companies is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; comfortable working with large data sets and complex formulas
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results on tight timelines.
  • Clear communicator who works effectively across departments and drives change.

Responsibilities

  • Own core accounting processes end to end, including documentation, process maps, and clear accountability across the team.
  • Partner with the Controller to manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, driving toward a faster and more predictable close.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements.
  • Continuously evaluate accounting workflows to eliminate manual work, reduce errors, and improve turnaround time.
  • Lead the implementation of automation, system enhancements, and AI-enabled tools that improve efficiency and scalability, while maintaining appropriate review and controls
  • Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls that support consistent, accurate reporting.
  • Partner with FP&A, Operations, Sales, Payroll, and other cross-functional teams to improve upstream processes and resolve accounting issues.
  • Coordinate external audit preparation, including schedules, documentation, and responses to auditor inquiries.
  • Mentor and develop accounting team members through review, coaching, and feedback.
  • Support the Controller and CFO on special projects, including system implementations and acquisitions.
  • All other duties as assigned.
