About The Position

As an Accounting Manager at LJA in our Accounting department, you will be responsible for coordinating and assisting in the completion of month-end closing activities, journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and analysis to ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting
8+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role
Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Ability to work effectively in a team environment; ability to accurately work under pressure and prioritize work to meet established reporting deadlines
Ability to maintain compliance with applicable state and federal laws
Ability to manipulate large amounts of data, high attention to detail and accuracy
Requires initiative based on familiarity with the organization and accounting practices and procedures

Responsibilities

Coordinating and assisting in the completion of month-end closing activities, journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and analysis to ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness
Analyzing financial reports and records
Assigning tasks to accounting staff and review as appropriate
Preparing monthly reconciliations for Intercompany Accounting
Participating in preparation for the annual audit
Making recommendations relative to procedures and the accounting of assets, reserves, etc.
Managing the fixed asset system
Collaborating with internal company departments, such as facilities and real estate teams to ensure lease compliance and calculations are accurate
Developing staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
Applying sound judgment in accordance with GAAP in all transactions, policies and procedures
