About The Position

This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, maintains a strong internal control environment, and delivers high-quality accounting support to internal stakeholders across multiple business units within a shared services model. The Accounting Manager leads and develops a team of accounting professionals (approximately 3–4 direct reports), providing coaching, performance management, and technical guidance. The role requires a balance of hands-on accounting expertise, people leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration. The individual must hold an active U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and demonstrate strong technical accounting skills, including the ability to research and interpret U.S. GAAP using authoritative guidance and prepare clear, well‑supported technical accounting memoranda. This position partners closely with Controllers and senior finance leadership to ensure consistent accounting policies, scalable processes, and high‑quality financial information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field Required
  • Minimum 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including:
  • 1-3 years in public accounting (Big 4 or large national firm preferred) Required
  • 1-3 years of people management or team-leader experience required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) USA Upon Hire Required

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, Preferred
  • 1-3 years Experience with accounting software, such as Oracle Cloud or SAP Preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience supporting multi‑entity accounting environments and shared services models. Preferred
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) (High proficiency)

Responsibilities

  • Manage general accounting activities for multiple legal entities within a shared‑services environment, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, and related close processes.
  • Oversee and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other accounting work products, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to company policy.
  • Maintain responsibility for the general ledger structure, including chart of accounts, mappings, and validation rules within Oracle.
  • Prepare, review, and present end‑of‑month financial results, variance analysis, and supporting schedules to management and key stakeholders.
  • Perform and document technical accounting research; prepare U.S. GAAP‑compliant accounting memoranda to support complex transactions and new accounting standards.
  • Ensure consistent application of accounting policies across all supported U.S. entities within the shared services model.
  • Support parent‑company reporting and consolidation requirements, including end‑of‑month reporting to América Móvil.
  • Partner with Controllers and cross‑functional teams (e.g., FP&A, Tax, Internal Audit) to streamline accounting processes, enhance financial reporting, and support strategic initiatives.
  • Provide timely financial data and insights to support management decision‑making.
  • Support internal and external audit requests, ensuring complete documentation, timely responses, and process transparency.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals, including performance feedback, goal setting, and succession planning.
