About The Position

HHM Talent is assisting a client with a search for an Accounting Manager in South Pittsburg, TN. This is a hybrid opportunity that will begin as a 1099 contract role for the first 90 days, with the intention of transitioning into a full-time permanent employee position after that period. The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and help improve processes as the company continues to grow. This person will be hands-on in the details while also providing leadership and structure to the accounting function.

Requirements

5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
Experience with ERP/accounting systems and Excel
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Prior experience as an Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, Controller, or similar role preferred

Responsibilities

Manage daily accounting operations including AP, AR, general ledger, and reconciliations
Prepare and review monthly financial statements
Lead month-end and year-end close processes
Maintain cash flow reporting and assist with forecasting
Ensure accuracy of account balances and resolve discrepancies
Support budgeting and financial planning initiatives
Coordinate with outside CPA firms, auditors, and tax partners
Evaluate current processes and recommend improvements for efficiency
Assist with payroll and benefits administration as needed
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, if applicable
